Blessed with Friends

Henry Ford once said, "My best friend is the one who brings out the best in me". An even more important person, my mother, always said, " You are only as good as the company you keep". Through my life I have found both of these pieces of wisdom to hold true, but even more so recently in my journey toward a healthier lifestyle. Whether it has been an individual friend, an encouraging group of exercise friends, a mentor, or my husband, my journey could not have been successful without the support of friends.

During my new lifestyle journey I have surrounded myself with people who enjoy exercise and healthy living.

I have been blessed to find a friend who exercises with me five days a week. We giggle and laugh. We encourage and support. We share our struggles and work hard at staying healthy.
I message my sister and friend each morning with an update on my morning weight and exercise!

I have also been blessed to be a part of an early morning exercise class filled with dedicated, fun-loving women. These women make me laugh. They are kind, caring and encouraging. We work hard together to obtain that "7 A.M. feeling". The love and warmth of that class carries me through my day!

A number of years ago a personal trainer came to our small town and taught me valuable life lessons. She helped change my attitude and outlook. Thanks to her, I no longer view everything as a "crisis" but rather as an "opportunity". She, too, is a blessing beyond measure.

Most precious of all, I have been blessed with a husband who literally loves me through "thick and thin"! He has embraced his own healthier lifestyle journey with me. We both take the M'lis weight management products and the M'lis daily essentials. We encourage each other and work together to stay on track. He has lost 70 pounds! Together we have shed 133 pounds!

A few years ago a speaker at my daughter's cosmetology graduation said that he could go out with the graduates that night, and based on their group of friends, he could give them a good idea where they will be in life five years from now.

As my mother said, you are only as good as the company you keep. If you surround yourself with people who overeat and don't exercise, chances are you will soon be doing the same thing, Make it your New Year's resolution to surround yourself with people who generate joy, health, and happiness!

Let Lora's Lifesyle, M'lis Weight Management, and positive, encouraging friends bring out the best in you and make 2016 your best year yet!
